So, I needed an easy but fun project for a school Christmas party. Make-your-own snow globes seems to be popular right now. I found some instructions on Pinterest and thought I would try it out ahead of time.
Glass jar (I used baby food jars)
A toy or figurine
Waterproof glue or epoxy
Hot glue gun and glue
Step one: Clean your jars.
I bought these little figurines at Dollar Tree.
Here is the waterproof glue I used.
Step Two: Adhere the figurine to the inside of the jar lid using an epoxy or strong waterproof adhesive.
Step Three: Fill up the baby food jar with baby oil. I have also read that you can use water and a couple of droppers of glycerin.
Step Four: Pour a half a teaspoon of glitter into the jar. (I learned the hard way and put WAY TOO MUCH glitter in mine. My little people are in a constant blizzard rather than a gently snowstorm. Oh well.)
Step Five: Hot glue the lid to the baby food jar. You could paint the lid as well.
Step Six: Flip over and shake!
I also tried it with silver glitter.
I think the kids are going to really enjoy this craft. I have all the figurines already glued down. All they will have to do is add the baby oil and glitter. I will then hot glue the top on. Since we have four stations, the crafts need to be fairly quick.
Thanks for stopping by!
